MARS CONCERT 2021

1. Achievements
Hua Chenyu served as the general director of the concert this time.
The concert cost a total of approximately $3 million to build a huge venue on the lawn of the amusement park. The stage design for this event draws inspiration from a setting filled with romance and fantasy – a grand treehouse located at a Martian base. This unique concept not only symbolizes the eternal vitality of life but also embodies our profound hopes for life’s miracles. The entire design is meticulously divided into three striking sections, each crafted with ingenuity and awe-inspiring beauty. The main stage (called “Ultimate”) stands an impressive 25 meters tall, 74 meters wide, and 33 meters deep. The cozy and inviting “home stage” measures 18 meters in length and width, with two levels and a total height of 10 meters. Connecting the main stage and the “home stage” is an elongated extension platform measuring 60 meters in length and 6 meters in width. This stage design won the Platinum Award at the MUSE Design Awards.
The concert is a seatless rock festival, consisting of two shows per day: “Matinee (2:07pm-4:30pm)” and “Evening Show (19:30pm-22:00pm)”. Matinee mainly communicates with fans and sings Unplugged songs; evening show is a formal rock live. The communication with fans and the Unplugged part are mainly performed on the “Home” stage, with guest Zuo Li as the guitarist.
One song every day, a total of 6 new songs was released for the first time.
Documentary “2021 Mars Concert Complete Record” was included in Hua Chenyu’s 5th original album “Hope Forget” as a USB version bonus (the online version was no longer sold).
2. Anecdote
As of the day before the last concert, Hua Chenyu has still not decided whether to use “Let’s Go and Watch the Sunrise”, the third song of the “Healing Trilogy 2021” trilogy, as the finale of these six concerts. He retained another “hidden option”, that is, if this performance failed to meet his expectations, he would treat the song as “non-existent”.
Since the concert originally scheduled for 2020 was postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19, Hua Chenyu showed a series of unpublished concert promotional photos taken in 2020 on the Home Stage.
In addition to the specially built stage, Mars elements are spread throughout every corner of the amusement park. Each restaurant has added a special Mars-themed menu, and the background music of the carousel has been replaced by a music box midi version of “For Forever”. In addition, paper towels, straws, paper bags, trash cans, and toilet hooks have also been replaced with Mars-themed versions.
Set up “Mars Food Street” to sell foods that Hua Chenyu personally selects that he thinks are delicious, such as Sakura Ice Cream, cakes, marshmallows, fried rice, hot dry noodles, tacos, fried chicken, pizza, barbecue, etc.
The edges of sharp stones and facilities in the amusement park were covered with sponges to prevent fans from being injured. Fans feel that the love they receive from Hua Chenyu is similar to the love they receive from their parents.
The soft drink “Mars Special Drink (火星特饮)” developed by Hua Chenyu himself, is made of ice sprite with strawberry jam and freshly squeezed pomegranate juice, and then decorated with colorful dried flower petals on the rim of the cup. After the concert, fans discovered the drink recipe themselves.
A different sentence was printed each day on the long ribbon paper that was sprayed at the end of the performance:

Fireworks were originally scheduled to be set off before the end of the performance every day, but due to traffic delays, the fireworks were not delivered in time on the first day, so they were not set off.
On four days of Matinee, a 100-Person battle of the mobile game “Game For Peace” was held. Hua Chenyu and Zuo Li each led a random 4-person team to compete with 92 other people. On December 4, Peace Elite League (PEL)’s top player 诚C, also served as a guest and led a random team to participate.
Hua Chenyu found a family playing mahjong in the audience at the concert, and then left a message to his fans on SNS saying: “Be bigger and stronger (做大做强), and be Pure Suit (清一色, a high-end way to win in mahjong)!” Since then, “Be bigger and stronger” has become the slogan of all fans and Hua himself. .
On a Matinee, Hua and Zuo Li imitated how they would perform a concert when they were 60 years old. Hua pretended to cough while singing “I Don’t Care (我管你)”.
To prevent the spread of the COVID-19, all spectators must present proof of vaccination and nucleic acid test results within 48 hours. In addition, because the Chinese government had just announced several medium- and high-risk areas, spectators from these areas would either be prohibited from entering the park or must watch in designated quarantine areas. Therefore, Hua installed speakers and a large screen outside the park for fans who could not enter. He also provided free water and food to spectators in quarantine.
