1. Achievements
In September 2018, five years after his debut, Hua held a two-day personal concert at China’s largest stadium, the Beijing National Stadium (Bird’s Nest), becoming the first to do so among the singers born after 1990.
Tickets on the first day were sold out in just 1 minute and 56 seconds. Tickets for the temporarily added second concert were sold out in 2 minutes and 58 seconds.
A jaw-dropping showcase of wire-work enabled Hua to fly freely above his audience and even do consecutive barrel rolls while singing.
The documentary of Mars Concert 2018 was included in Hua Chenyu’s 4th album “NEW WORLD” as a USB version bonus.
2. Anecdote
On the first day, actress Zhang Xinyi (Er-jie), whom Hua Chenyu met on the travel program “Flowers on Trip”, came to the concert. She was pregnant, and Hua Chenyu considered himself the uncle of her unborn baby, so he sang a song “To my Future Child” for the future baby.
There is a line in the lyrics of “To my Future Child” that calls out “My dear baby”. Whenever Hua sang this line, the fans responded in unison with “Yes!”.
Since then, fans have claimed that they are the aunt (of Er-jie’s future baby). Hua was shocked and acquiesced to the title, and used the title “the 90,000 aunts present” during the concert the next day.
The Chinese pronunciation of “For Forever” is similar to “Hua hua loves me”. At this concert, Hua Chenyu personally admitted this nickname and made a request: “If you change the title of the song to ’Hua hua loves me’, it will be your turn to sing! I just need to fly around in the sky!” Then he sang the song while flying above the stadium seats.
On the first day, ET sang two songs: “Ashes from Fireworks” and “My Skateboard Shoes 2016”. The harmony at the end of “Ashes from Fireworks” was a new version adapted from “Child”, which has never been released before. But ET tacitly sang it correctly when they heard the melody for the first time. It surprised Hua Chenyu a lot.
The next day, at the insistence of ET, Hua allowed ET to sing Aliens with his improvised piano accompaniment. Because of this song, the concert exceeded the scheduled end time by 6 minutes, causing Hua to pay a fine of 120,000 yuan. Therefore, this song was later nicknamed “Aliens of 120,000 Yuan”.
Five years ago, when Hua Chenyu first debuted, he promised his fans: “In 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, I will always stand on the stage. I won’t let you regret choosing me.” This concert is the first time this promise has been fulfilled.

The next day, after singing the final encore song “I am What I am”, Hua sang a new song “New World” that has not yet been released, and declared to the fans, “From now on, I will take you into the new world.” Since then, Hua Chenyu has continued to emphasize the concept of “New World” and released an album of the same name in 2020.
During the two-day performance, Hua Chenyu’s throat condition was in poor condition, and he even had painkillers injected into his throat to be able to make a sound.
