2026 Hunan TV Lantern Festival Gala

Hua Chenyu performed as the grand finale guest at the 2026 Hunan TV Lantern Festival Gala.
Due to the freezing weather at the live broadcast site – with heavy snow even falling during rehearsals a few days prior – visible frost could be seen with every breath Hua took while singing. During the previous day’s rehearsal, Hua wore an exceptionally puffy bright yellow down jacket, which earned him the affectionate nickname “Honey Butter Bun” from the fans.

Hunan TV Countdown Party

Hua Chenyu participated in Hunan TV’s countdown party for 13 consecutive years.
This year, Hua first performed a solo medley of three of his signature tracks: “Great Sage Equal To Heaven“, “King and Beggar“ and “Growing Toward the Sun - Sunrise Ver.“. Among these, “Growing Toward the Sun - Sunrise Ver.“ featured middle school students in uniforms as backup dancers. The choreography, which they created themselves, brimmed with boundless vitality and energy, sparking a huge buzz on short-video platforms.
Next, Hua led the idol group TNT (时代少年团) in a float parade across the venue in the moments right before the countdown.
Then, after the countdown to ring in the New Year, Hua performed his signature track “I Don’t Care“ alongside the six finalists from “Sound Trek (声鸣远扬) 2025”, the music audition program where he serves as a mentor.
