1. Achievements
On June 16, 2015, Hua Chenyu recorded a press conference for the Mars Concert 2015 on a cruise ship near the Bund in Shanghai. This was the first time that the world’s largest outdoor LED facade lighting along the Huangpu River had been lit up to promote a personal concert.
The first singer in mainland China to hold personal concerts for three consecutive days in a venue that can accommodate more than 10,000 people.
The ticket sales once again broke the sales record, selling out in 35 seconds. The ticketing website had more than 160,000 people online at the same time.
Free online live streaming had 264 million online views, broking the live broadcast record.
2. Anecdote
In 2014, Chinese pianist Lang Lang attended the concert as a guest and sang “Glimmer”. He also performed three other songs with Hua.
On the first day, during the song-requesting session, a girl named “Tan Siyu” was random chosen and received a song that Hua improvised.
In this improvised song, one of the lyrics is “Your long hair is beautiful, can I treat you to a casual dinner when you have time”, causing jealous fans to shout “divorce”.
The next day, Hua Chenyu used another improvised song to apologize to all fans, causing all the audience to shout “remarry” on the spot.
On the third day, Hua improvised a song based on the melody “61427” randomly provided by a 15-year-old male audience designated by fans.
Two toilet-bowl-shaped chairs were placed on the stage for Hua Chenyu and Zuo Li to perform unplugged songs. Then Hua took out popsicles and Yang’s Fried Dumplings from the “toilet bowl”!
The “toilet bowl” was actually a refrigerator.
