“Quasimodo’s Gift (卡西莫多的礼物) - Short Movie”

The promotional video for Hua Chenyu’s first album “Quasimodo’s Gift)” is in the form of a short movie, directed by Peng Youlun, starring Hua Chenyu and Li Xinyun.
The MVs for the singles “Quasimodo’s Gift” and “Ashes from Fireworks” were also edited based on this short movie.

Plot

The male protagonist Ka Xi (meaning “Quasimodo”) is an alien who fell to the earth from the planet Hugo. He has been looking for his companions and a way to return to the planet. Ka Xi has a very eccentric personality and always stays at home doing research.
The heroine Xing Yun (meaning “Nebulae”) is an unknown comedian, but she has forgotten how to laugh. She tried every means to commit suicide, but all failed.
One day, when Xing Yun went to the roof and committed suicide by jumping off the building, she met Ka Xi. Ka Xi mistakenly thought she was his companion, and the two became close neighbors.
Xing Yun believed that Ka Xi was a mental patient, so she decided to use her comedy skills to cure Ka Xi.
Ka Xi has been waiting for a storm to help launch his spaceship. But when the storm finally arrived, he gave up the opportunity to launch the spacecraft and chose to rush into the fire scene to save Xing Yun.
