“Who Am I (我是谁)” - Documentary Reality Show
In 2015, Hua joined the documentary reality show “Who Am I (我是谁)” and explored Japan. There, he met an eccentric inventor, ate at a top sushi restaurant and went on a fishing boat.
1. About the show
“Who Am I” is a large-scale documentary reality show. Celebrities take on the lead roles and join forces with ordinary people from all walks of life to embark on a journey to a mysterious destination. In a completely unfamiliar environment, they forgot their original aura and experienced the lives of local residents with a new identity, thereby discovering their true selves.
In addition to Hua Chenyu, other celebrities participating in the show include Jordan Chan (actor), Benny Sa (moderator), Ge Tian (actor), Wang Cong (host), Yu Tan (singer), and Wang Qing (actor).
At the press conference on November 11, 2015, Hua performed his original song “Mayfly” which is also the theme song for “Who Am I”.
While filming the promotional video, Hua Chenyu suffered from a stomach attack that caused him to hiccup non-stop, so the filming was interrupted several times. In the end, he finally completed the video shooting task.

Kenji Kawakami, the Japanese inventor responsible for the phenomenon known as Chindogu.Literally translated as “unusual tools”, they are everyday gadgets that end up being more inconvenient than convenient.
Hua Chenyu worked as an assistant to Kenji Kawakami and learned the skills to develop interesting inventions.
EP6 Visiting the areas affected by the Fukushima nuclear disaster

Together with his teammates, Hua Chenyu visited the Fukushima nuclear disaster exclusion zone and tsunami-stricken areas, and chatted with an elderly survivor all night long.
Hua planted a small sapling on the mountain and wrote a blessing card saying, “May the tree survive.” Three years later (2018), fans who were traveling in Japan confirmed that the tree was still alive.
