Ship of Theseus (忒修斯的船)
First released in “Mars Concert 2024” Nanchang concert, on July 20, 2024.
The Ship of Theseus, also known as Theseus’s Paradox, is a thought experiment and paradox about whether an object is the same object after having had all of its original components replaced over time, typically one after the other.
This is the only song where Hua sings in a low range from beginning to end.
The arrangement uses polyphony (music composed of multiple independent voices). Hua originally wanted to make it a male-female duet, but after failing to find a suitable female vocalist, he gave up the idea and recorded the polyphony himself instead.
